THE AUTHOR

About Andy & his passion for writing.

Andy’s always loved books. The way in which words flow and intertwine into sentences and stories is something magical. I’m sure like Andy, you'll remember that pivotal moment in your life, that one milestone when you picked up your first real book and placed it down again three hours later, mesmerised and enthralled. For Andy, it was his tenth birthday, and the book was Peter Benchley’s “Jaws”. That terrifying image of a great white shark on the cover, rising up from the depths on its way upwards to attack its first victim, had a major impact on a wannabe writer. Now, years later and with a job involving lots of international travel, presents an author with exciting locations for his stories. After all, if you’re going to write about a place, then you have to experience it first hand. With two novels, and two collaborations under his belt, Andy is keen to complete his trilogy and draw the story of Dougie Allan to an exciting and satisfactory conclusion. The Last Salvation is due for release in 2025.

AMAZON BOOK REVIEWS

The Seventh Day by Andy Malone

"The Seventh Day is an amazing book. It touches several subjects that are recognisable from other movies and books (Highlander, The Ninth Gate, The Swarm, The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Davinci Code, Angels and Demons, and suchlike), but nowhere does it become a known or familiar story. That is a real strength! It keeps urging you on to read further, to dig deeper and to get to the core of these mysteries… It quickly becomes apparent that all these ‘happenings’ are intertwined and that there must be something huge going on." -
-- Thirza Karssen, the Netherlands.

"I really felt that the characters were real, and each character was introduced in a way that was not overwhelming but more natural as you would learn about someone in real life.  The story evolved as you would normally expect but just when you get complacent and think you know what is going to happen next Andy throws in an unexpected twist that totally makes sense. This is a must read if you like history, geography, suspense, time travel or just a science or fantasy fiction novel." - --Mike Quinn, San Francisco, USA

SHADOWS RISING REVIEWS

What readers are saying ...

As I was reading, the story got me completely and I didn’t notice it was almost midnight. “WHAT?!? No way!”, I shouted as I finished reading the chapter and almost woke up entire family. There are lot more of unexpected moments and events. Splendid and detailed places, streets and buildings descriptions will captivate your attention, while vividly presented characters and action sequences will immerse you deeply and get you as close to the story as if you are there. I highly recommend it and can only say what I said in the first book review: “Can’t wait to read the sequel! “Review by Sasha Kranjac (Croatia)

"Andy Malone returns with a second science fiction thriller that takes your breath away from the first word. You start reading and without realising hours have passed and you are still reading. Every chapter ends with a cliffhanger or a surprising twist that makes you want to continue reading to see what will happen to the many interesting characters. Even a person like me, who doesn’t read a lot, loved this book. It’s full of mystery, suspense and thrilling twists.

Shadows Rising is the sequel to Malone’s first novel The Seventh Day, but it can be perfectly read as a stand-alone. I did not know about the first book when I started reading this one and I had no problems with understanding the story. All the characters are re-introduced shortly and the major events of the first book are recapped when necessary. However, I would advise people who like this sort of stories to read the first book as well because it is equally good. If you like fantasy and science-fiction, this book is a must read!"
